The application has been short listed and will be announced at a ceremony on the 11th December in Lampeter!<\/p>\n<h1 dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">Defibrillator Training and First Aid<\/h1>\n<p>The Community Council have arranged a Training session on the 28th November 2025 at 7.30pm at Neuadd yr Hafod, Gorsgoch. The event is free for all to attend, with some light refreshments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1 dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">Remembrance Sunday<\/h1>\n<p>A Service will be held on the 9th November 2025 at 1pm at the War Memorial led by Archdeacon Eileen Davies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\" data-placeholder=\"Translation\">Hardship, Warmth and Fuel<\/h1>\n<p>If you are finding it difficult to pay for bills, heat your home or get food, please contact CAVO for support and advice on 01570 423 232.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">One Voice Wales Awards 2019<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Llanwenog Community Council received a &#8216;Commended&#8217; award for this website which provides residents of the Parish and beyond with information about the Community Council and events in the area.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">2019 Sponsored Walk<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Over 60 people came along to the annual Parish Walk, this year it followed public footpaths around the Drefach and Alltyblacca Area and we visited Llanfechan Mansion! Our soldiers from the parish who fell at both the first and second world wars were remembered for their bravery and sacrifices for us.<\/p>\n<p>The Community Council then arranged a service of remembrance for the Centenary of the end of the first World War at Llanwenog Church. The award was received for the work that has been done in recent years in the community such as the redesigning of the Red Ciosgs with bookkeeping and jigsaw space, Diffibrilator and display board. Holding the annual Walk for Life and making an educational journey telling the story of the Parish and using the public footpaths and raising money for charities. Taking over to be the trustees of the memorial in Drefach, and making sure that it can be moved to create an entrance to Ysgol Dyffryn Cledlyn. Cae Sarn&#8217;s playing field has been taken over by the Community Council to give the village the chance to maintain the playground and provide a park for the children of the village and the area. Hold defibrillator training events, Llanwenog Parish story night by Simon Evans and Open Evening by the Police Commissioner. In the future the Community Council will be holding an open evening for the whole community, a chance to get to know the Councilors, share ideas and concerns.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Drefach Kiosk<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is now a Community Book Swap stationed within the Drefach Kiosk and a Defibrillator if it is required at any time. Please bring your books and fill up the shelves!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">CWRTNEWYDD RED KIOSK<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Thanks to the enthusiasm of local residents, the Cwrtnewydd Kiosk which sits outside the old Red Lion pub will be converted into a Community Hub with a Book Swap Shop, Defibrillator and a brand new notice board! Look out for them, take a look at the instructions and keep your eyes peeled for a training event!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Well-being Future Generations Act 2015<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This Act is about improving the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Act will make the public bodies listed in the Act think more about the long term, work better with people and communities and each other, look to prevent problems and take a more joined-up approach.<\/p>\n<p>This new law will mean that, for the first time, public bodies listed in the Act must do what they do in a sustainable way. Public bodies need to make sure that when making their decisions they take into account the impact they could have on people living their lives in Wales in the future. It will expect them to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>work together better<\/li>\n<li>involve people reflecting the diversity of our communities<\/li>\n<li>look to the long term as well as focusing on now<\/li>\n<li>take action to try and stop problems getting worse &#8211; or even stop them happening in the first place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>http:\/\/gov.wales\/topics\/people-and-communities\/people\/future-generations-act\/?skip=1&#038;lang=en<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Walk for Life 2016<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">55 people from Llanwenog Parish and beyond ventured on the sponsored walk to raise money for Kidney Wales Foundation and over \u00a3750 was raised. A map and accompanying notes were created to coincide with the route walked and we all learnt something new. Both documents are attached below. If you are part of a charity or an individual who is going to represent this Parish, applications are considered via a letter by the Community Councillors on a monthly basis, you should send your application to the Clerk, Blaenderi, 13 Penbryn, Lampeter, SA48 7EU. Every application will be determined on its merits and there is no certainty that the application will be successful.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<strong>New Area School<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The\u00a0planning application for\u00a0the new area school in Drefach will appear before the Planning Committee on the 9th September 2015 at Penmorfa. Thank you to Cllr Geraint Hatcher for organising the event once again this year and to Cefn-Hafod for the food that followed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\"><b>First World War Centenary <\/b><\/h2>\n<p>A memorial service was held to remember the Centenary of the First World War on\u00a0Sunday the 10th August 2014 in Llanwenog Church with a Welsh tea to follow. \u00a3255.00 was raised towards Help the Heroes charity. It was lovely to see all organisations gather together to remember those who fought for our country.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Drefach War Memorial<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The War Memorial\u00a0has been cleaned and looks as fresh as ever!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cyngorllanwenogcouncil.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/SAM_2689.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cyngorllanwenogcouncil.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/SAM_2689-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"SAM_2689\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong>New Benches<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Thanks to the grant received from <i>Balcher Pentrefi, <\/i>eight new benches have been made for the Parish as the existing ones were in a state of disrepair.
